| COBURWAS Learning Centre COBURWAS is a club that began in the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Uganda. COBURWAS represents the different countries in the camp; Congo, Burundi, Rwanda and Sudan. Think Humanity works in unity and collaboration with COBURWAS Club and together we listen to the needs of the community. The mission of COBURWAS Club is to unite, transform and develop communities in Africa through education, social entrepreneurship, volunteerism and humanitarianism. History: In February 2007, Wereje Benson shared the idea of starting a school for orphans where children could learn in a safe and loving environment. Two years later, February 2009, this dream became a reality. The land was donated by the UNHCR camp commandant in December 2007 and the COBURWAS Club members and the community of Kyangwali then started the construction of the building in the refugee settlement. The construction of the main building began over school break December 2007-January 2008 through funding from Think Humanity and COBURWAS Club members. In 2008 the building was completed with a grant from Global Healing. Other funding was through individual donors, Americans For Philanthropy and fundraising in the USA through Think Humanity and in Africa through COBURWAS Club. Think Humanity donors also helped to fund uniforms and shoes for the children. The hard-working and dedicated COBURWAS Club members along with the community raised a portion of the money for the project by selling calendars and farming. The school opened in February 2009 with 43 students, four teachers, four cooks, a porter and a watchman. The school now has 97 students and have added primary one and primary two.
Teachers: Beatrice, Lydia, Harriet and Lucy (2010) Think Humanity sends "incentive" pay to all four teachers and cooks each month. The incentive is similar to what teachers in Uganda would get paid, but it also includes the benefit of room and board.

What sponsors are saying about helping a child through Think Humanity: "Seeing the beautiful faces of these children who are living in such difficult conditions just pulls at your heartstrings. We wanted to do something to try and make their conditions better - help in some way. And it costs us so little to make such a big difference to someone else. Sponsoring a child was the perfect way to help us be a part of all the good that Think Humanity does every day." Jessica Morgan, Jessica and her husband sponsor Kati. When I started reading these children's stories, it broke my heart. My first thought was that I wish I could afford to help. I'm barely making ends meet as it is and my own children and grandchildren need things that I try to help with. I just couldn't get them out of my mind. $100 is so little in the scheme of things and it supplies so much for these little ones! Jackie Riddle, Jackie and her husband sponsor Priscar.
I feel like a prayer was answered when I found Think Humanity. I have been praying for the child God wanted me to sponsor and a reliable group to go through. I was relieved to find that I knew the members of Think Humanity and I know they are legit. Jennifer Campbell, sponsor of Naftari
"Randy and I were looking at the pictures of the children that needed sponsorship and felt drawn to one child in particular. His picture tugged at our heart strings. We felt led to sponsor Janvier and wanted to be a blessing to a child in need. Thanks so much for all you are doing through Think Humanity." - Susan Pintar, Susan and her husband Randy sponsor Janvier I decided to sponsor a child refugee with Think Humanity for two reasons: First, I was so happy to know that $100 would go so far in helping the child, covering not only food, but also their clothing, medical and educational expenses. And second, I love Think Humanity's mission and truly enjoy being a small part of something so significant. Mandy Stetzel, sponsor of Barack Isaac
